Dr Chamindika Konara wins the Women in International Business Award at the Premier of Queensland’s Export Awards
Dr Chamindika Konara, general manager for Qlicksmart, has won the prestigious Women in International Business Award at the 2023 Premier of Queensland’s Export Awards.
With qualifications in both engineering and business, Dr Konara uses her expertise to translate product, knowledge, and digital-based solutions to the medical sector.
At Qlicksmart, Chamindika is proud to lead a diverse team that consistently achieves operational and sales KPIs, including the growth and expansion of our export markets. This is achieved through the establishment of a lean business model that focuses on supplier and distributor partnerships and profitability. Under Dr Konara’s leadership, Qlicksmart’s export business has growth by 30%, and overall profit has grown by 35%.
Qlicksmart currently exports to over 50 countries. This has risen from 32 countries 5 years ago. This increase in export sales and distributor growth is supported by a robust supply chain and third-party logistic centres located in the US, Netherlands, Malaysia, and locally in Queensland.
She has also provided education for medical students, hospital staff, and medical device distributors to raise awareness around importance of systematic implementation of safety. Dr Konara has presented as a subject expert at a number of global healthcare conferences, including the Association of periOperative Registered Nurses Global Surgical Conference in 2022 and 2023.
As a leader in the often male-dominated sector of medical devices, Dr Konara excels at managing complex logistics and forging valuable connections with Qlicksmart’s export distributor partners.
